Beaune’s Perfect Saturday Market

Real quick, here’s a post of our arrival day in Beaune. Going to stop after this because I’ve been at it for almost 2 hours and we are headed to Paris tomorrow early. We will be in Paris for the rest of the week and then we are headed to the English country side for a few days before our flight back.

Our Night Train to Beaune included a 90 minute delay at two small towns in France (in the middle of the night) while the French police pulled several people off the train because their passports were flagged. That was fun as they went door-to-door looking for people. My traveling companions slept through it while I wandered the train looking for answers regarding the delay though they now regret missing the excitement.

On our arrival day, we wandered into the Beaune Saturday Market. Beautiful! We bought picnic supplies for our bike ride through vineyards planned for the next day. Arrival day was dropping the bags off, a quick walk through one of the finest street markets I have ever seen, and straight to 2 scheduled wine tastings with the first being a mini-wine school on the Burgundy region at 11 AM. This is the rough life…
